Do I need to pay a quarantine fee for my Perth order?
WA customers are subject to a Quarantine Inspection Fee on live fish shipments, this applies no matter which online retailer you order from, it's a WA Government charge, not a store fee. LiveFish covers this cost for you, so it won't appear on your order. Other major online aquarium retailers shipping to WA typically bill this fee directly to the customer instead. If you're ever contacted directly by WA Quarantine about a charge, let us know and we'll arrange a refund.
Do you have a shop in Perth I can visit?
No, LiveFish is an online-only retailer. We ship live fish to Perth from our facility rather than operating a walk-in store, which is how we're able to stock and ship such a wide range.
Can I order shrimp, crayfish or snails to Perth?
No. WA quarantine rules do not allow shrimp, crayfish, mussels, or snails (including nerite snails) to be shipped into Western Australia. This is a state biosecurity restriction that applies to every retailer shipping into WA, not a LiveFish policy.
What else can't be shipped to a WA address?
Along with shrimp, crayfish, mussels and snails, WA restricts live aquatic plants, and a variety of fish including Saratoga, Lungfish, and large-bodied eastern native fish. Barramundi may still be available with a permit through WA Fisheries.
How fast will my order reach Perth?
Orders ship Monday to Thursday via Team Global Express premium air freight, with WA orders prioritised for Monday dispatch. Delivery is usually within 24 hours of shipping, occasionally up to 48 hours, particularly to regional WA locations.
What's the minimum order and shipping cost to Perth?
$25 minimum order (excluding shipping). Shipping is $22 for orders under $100, $11 for orders over $100, and free for orders over $150, the same flat-rate pricing that applies Australia-wide, plus we cover your WA quarantine fee on top of that.
