Sera Siporax Mini Professional was developed especially for smaller aquariums with a volume of up to approximately 100 litres. It maximises the surface area available for beneficial bacteria while maintaining a compact shape. This allows effective biological filtration, even when using smaller filter units. Water parameters remain stable over the long term, while maintenance requirements are reduced.

Filtration and decomposition processes in the substrate of natural waters are very important. Micro-organisms break down organic waste, making nutrients available for aquatic plants as part of the natural cycle. At the same time, pollutants such as ammonium, nitrite and nitrate are removed. Since relatively little waste is produced per unit of water in nature, the available substrate surface area is sufficient to support the required number of micro-organisms.

Unlike other filter rings available on the market, sera siporax is made from sintered glass. This unique material features a special three-dimensional pore structure that maximises the available surface area. At the same time, the fine pores provide ideal conditions for beneficial bacteria that break down pollutants.

As the pore structure forms an interconnected system, water continuously flows through it, allowing the bacteria to break down pollutants as efficiently as possible. Furthermore, the unique pore arrangement enables the substrate to self-clean, resulting in significantly longer filter maintenance intervals.
