Sera Pond Sludge Remover
Excessive pond sludge or mud (detritus) poses a threat to pond inhabitants. It reduces oxygen levels and releases undesirable substances, such as phosphate and nitrogen (nitrate), into the water. In addition, pond sludge provides an ideal breeding ground for pathogens. When fish stir up the sludge, the water becomes cloudy and foul-smelling gases are released as the sludge rots.
Pond Sludge Remover provides a quick and safe solution. When used, it visibly reduces pond sludge naturally. Its gentle action begins shortly after application and lasts for several weeks.
For a good start to the pond season, it is important to remove organic waste, such as leaves, dead algae and plant matter, using Pond Sludge Remover in spring. It also helps prevent rotting and the natural silting-up of the pond.
