Mollies are the best fish for young children to care for as they are so hardy.Mollies are the best fish for young children to care for as they are so hardy. They are relatively small you can keep quite a few in a tank. As they are live breeders children can hunt for babies in the tank. I bought a dozen a year ago and now have forty!!!! The lyretails are my favourite mollie as they have such a pretty body shape, although the balloon shape is alse very interesting. Mollies come in a variety of colours as well from brights to dalmation spots. Each one can be individually identified easily making it great for kids to name and identify with.
