Cardinal Tetra - Often regarded as an upgrade to common neon tetra, the cardinal tetra is a fantastic tetra species for those who are looking for the perfect and elegant schooling fish for their planted and community tanks.
Though they can be slightly more difficult to keep when compared to neon's due to their sensitivity to water parameters, the cardinal tetra pulls through with its full body colors. Featuring a much more metallic blue and full-body red stripe the cardinal tetra offers the complete contrast.

I'm going to order more of theseI ordered 10 and received 11. All alive and healthy. Thier colour was a little pale at first but soon coloured up shortly after introduction. They were a little shy for the first few days but soon took control of their new enviroment and now ten days later they behave as if they own it! Fairly good colours for cardinals. I'm going to order more of these.

Gorgeous fishArrived this morning, were very pale, but after a few minutes out in the light they started to colour up. 12 hours later and they are looking stunning in my tank. I have always wanted some of these guys as a planted tank just isn't quite the same without a school of them. Money well spent and they're getting on fine with the white clouds in the tank.

In any tropical aquarium a bunch of these guys would be a great additionIn any tropical aquarium a bunch of these guys would be a great addition :) they school all over the place when you have heaps..... Mine do that and when I put the hose in to refill my tank after water change (because its a 300 litre and takes a while to refill) they try and swim towards the current... really cute =) by Jesse Wood (Ruth woods son)

These are a beautiful fishThese are a beautiful fish, and in schools of over around 10 they look stunning. Make sure you get a school over over 5 though, if you don't, they nip the other fish in the tank. While being a little more expensive than the neon tetra, that extra centimetre or two and the extra red makes them many times easier and more pleasurable to watch. Overall, they are a great community fish that is easy to look after and very good looking. I would definately recommend them to any peaceful community tank keeper.
