The Tuxedo Guppy is one of the more interesting and colourful Guppy’s you can add to your aquarium. They get their name from the ‘organised’ nature of the colouration on their bodies, just like when one wears a tuxedo! This smartly dressed Guppy is peaceful and non-aggressive in nature so is fantastic to add with other small, schooling fish.

Caring for your Tuxedo Guppy:
Due to their relatively easy to care for nature, the Tuxedo Guppy is an extremely popular choice of Guppy fish, especially amongst beginners.

Feeding your Tuxedo Guppy:
Tuxedo Guppy’s are omnivores, which means feeding them can be quite an easy task. You may feed your Guppy fish flake foods, however, it is important to use high-quality products. Because they are omnivores you will need to vary their diet with live foods as well some favourites being, bloodworms and shrimp. By adding these at different times you will keep your Guppy’s quite happy.

Tankmates for your Guppy:
Because Tuxedo Guppy’s are quite adaptable fish, they are capable of living harmoniously with many different fish species. This is also in part, due to their friendly, non-aggressive nature. A Guppy will always thrive with more Guppy’s, but can easily coexist with most smaller, peaceful fish species such as Tetras, Mollies, Platies, Gouramis and Corydoras.

Tank size, water quality, temperature and PH:
Tank size – considering Guppy’s are a schooling fish it is important to note when figuring out how big a tank you need, how much water one Guppy requires. Your average Guppy will grow to around 3cm and requires around 20lt of water. Therefore, if you were to have 4 in your tank, your tank would need to be a minimum of 150lt (20 gallons)
Water quality – hardness (dGH) 8-12, 0 ppm ammonia, 0 ppm nitrites, maximum 10 ppm nitrites.
Water temperature – 22-28c
PH – 6.8-7.8
