Assorted Wagtail Platy
There are very few fish better suited to beginner aquariums than the humble platy. Easy to care for, endlessly colourful, and constantly active, platies have introduced countless people to the aquarium hobby over the years. Assorted Wagtail Platies showcase one of the hobby's most iconic colour patterns, combining vibrant body colours with striking black finnage.
Every Wagtail Platy displays a unique combination of body colours ranging from brilliant reds and oranges through to yellows and creams, all contrasted by distinctive jet-black fins. This classic "wagtail" pattern has remained popular for decades and looks particularly impressive when several colour variations are kept together within the same aquarium.
Like all platies, these fish are livebearers. Males possess a modified anal fin known as a gonopodium, while females become larger and fuller-bodied. Under suitable conditions, females may produce fully formed fry every month.
