Knife Fish Black Ghost

Black Ghost Knife Fish 6cm

Apteronotus Albifrons
Rating:
99% of 100
For the experienced aquarists chasing a true oddball fish, the black ghost knife is a must-have species. Ghost Knives have long been a mascot for oddball fish species and are usually captive-bred in large ponds for the aquarium trade. These fish are a must-have for larger aquariums and will be a really great consideration for a biotope-style system.

My favorite, the 2x I received are both becoming familiar with other fishes in the tank and are just beautiful to look when they're not hiding

My little BKG is certainly not shy. Made himself right at home, no signs of stress from the long haul to Cairns. Can't wait to see him grow. Thank LV.

  5. So fabulous he dances with my Black tetras
    100%
This guy is a survivor. He arrived with his bag torn and he huddled in the deepest water corner he could find (less than a cm) within the box. I put him in the tank immediately without proper adjustment procedure to get him to water fast and he survived. Within 3hrs he was trucking along fine and 4months later still happy and about 2cm larger.
He has a cave that he rarely uses and spends most of the time inspecting the tank and dancing with my black tetras / spanish dancers. He has no problem with any fish and when he chills out the Kuhil loaches stick near him for some reason. He tries stealing food from my Albino Catfish but isn't fast enough. When he is irritated by my Shinbukin 'Haduukin' fossicing he zaps him, but that is sporadic at best.
Black Ghost Knifefish have been a favourite since childhood and like my first one 'Wolfgang' that had become a childcare centre pet (at 25cm) is entertaining and active.
