Puntius johorensis
The Puntius Lineatus, commonly referred to as the Striped Barb, is a hidden gem in the freshwater aquarium hobby. These sleek, energetic fish add some great activity, especially into larger aquariums and whilst they may not have the bold colours of some other freshwater species, their peaceful nature makes them an excellent choice for mid-sized community tanks.

Recommended schooling fishNot had striped bards before & we're very pleased with them. The 8 I bought are doing really well, coloured up, getting around togther - great, schooling fish & bigger than many barbs, tetras & such, so suit a tank with larger fish. A couple of smaller rainbow fish that don't have any others of their type often swim with the barbs, so they must be nice fish! :))

These fish are a welcome addition to my large fish community tank. When i bought the striped barbs i did not realize they were a relatively large species. I put them in my large american and african cichild display tank, and they have adapted beautifully to the community. They stay mostly in the middle level of the tank and swim in a school. They eat anything and are thriving. They are peaceful, attractive and a welcome addition to any large fish community tank.
