The Maingano cichlid has got to be one of the coolest and under-rated African cichlids available in the aquarium hobby. These fun little cichlids look and behave very much like Mbuna and have such contrasting and electric colours. Maingano cichlids only reach around 10 cm as adults and make for a great entry-level African cichlid because they can be kept in smaller aquariums.

Arived safeboth of the little guys arrived safe and healthy, one of them has a little bit of a concave stomach and I'm a bit worried but he is acting healthy enough so hopefully it will go away once he adjusts to his new environment.

beautiful fishI ordered 5 of these fish of Livefish and they all arrived very quickly, all alive and healthy, they lost their colour due to stress of travel but within an hour of being in the tank their colour returned. and they are beautiful.

Beautiful, interesting fishI oredered three of these and they arrived right on time. They're beautiful, interesting fish who like to hide, but also dart around a lot. Lately they've come out of their shells a bit and aren't hiding so much. Their colour is amazing and they seem healthy. I reccomend these fish to all interested in cichlids.

Eye CatchingI already have eight of these 6 babies and a breeding pair they love hiding in their various holes and caves and are very bright and cheerful fish.
They are easy and fun to keep and look after i would recommend these to anyone who wants Cichlids as a starter fish.

great looking fishadded 3 of these to my set up with 3 other Maingano and 6 yellow labs. was worried the 3 mainganos would bully them as they were quite a bit smaller. i rearranged the tank shortly after puting them in and that stopped all the aggression. they are now very happy after 2 weeks.

5 Arrived safe and soundI ordered 5 of these along with some other fish and they all arrived safe and sound all packaged in seperate bags. There color and size was good, it really sets off the tank.
It appears that they saw I ordered five and did there best to pick a good male/female ratio. Might have been luck, but I am not normally that good with luck hahaPosted on

Active MinersFish settled in well, the yellow labs like to gang up on 2 Mangiano's but they quickly showed them whos boss. Not overly aggressive but they will defend their space and like to dig tunners under rocks and ornaments. Nice colouring too.
