When a fish has ‘splendid’ in its name, you already know it’s going to look great. The splendid rainbowfish has so many regional colour variants that you can have one species come in dozens of different colours. One of these stunning colours comes from Deepwater Creek. Reaching around 15 cm this stunning fish is a naturally occurring array of colours which is usually only seen in selectively bred fish. These rainbow fish would be great to highlight in a species-only planted tank or to add to the collection of rainbow fish.

10/10I have only been keeping rainbow fish for a few months now. I know these fish lack colour when young. I was keeping a low number of red rainbows and when my livefish Oder came, it blow me away. The fish where as healthy as cold be. And when dropped into their new tank almost started to colour strait way. My other rainbow become part of the school strait away. I believe if the water conditions are spot on the fish will blossom near strait away. Thanks live fish. :).

Healthy and ActiveMy Deepwater arrived healthy and active. I understand it usually takes rainbows a while to colour up so no problems there. One of them came with a bit of a missing tail and tends to hang on his own, sure it will grow back and will join his mates.

Surprise HitI bought a couple of these because I had some store credit from some guppies that didn't survive being posted and the rainbows were supposed to end up as dinner for my turtles but they managed to out swim the turtles and have now colored up nicely and look really good in the tank. They're now a great native side attraction to my aussie turtle tank... at least until the turtles become stronger swimmers.

Very easy to keepAlthough called "rainbow fish' .. these species are not particularly very colourful compared to lets say, african cichlids or marine fish, but they are indeed attractive enough and are a welcome addition to any community or native tank.
