Licorice Gourami - Parosphromenus Deissneri

Water Quality
· Temperature: 25°C - 28°C.
· pH: 4.5 - 6.0 until settled. This can then be raised slightly.
· General Hardness: Low 20-70 ppm.

Feeding
Live and frozen foods in the form of brine shrimp and daphnia until settled in.
Once settled, they will accept dry foods. As they have a small mouth, ensure that the food is of the correct size.

Compatibility
This shy, peaceful fish is best kept with others who have the same peaceful behavior.

Maximum Size and Longevity
Grows to approximately 6cm and may live up to 5 years.

They are Chocolate brown with pale, irregular vertical bars.

A Mouth brooder that is difficult to breed. The males may get more color, while the females are plumper.

Chocolate Gouramis are wild-caught and, being naturally shy, they must have cover amongst which they can hide. Subdued lighting is beneficial.
