These Mollys are just the most vibrant little fish you can keep in an aquarium, the L.T. part of their name refers to the lyre tail gene present in these fish. Whilst mini Mollys normally have a curved tail fin, this strain has 2 extensions on the tail which give it the lyre tail aesthetic. The size of the tail and crescent shape add a lot of volume to these small fish. These Mollys are also just one vibrant gold colour from head to tail with very minor differences in shade, this makes a large group of these fish in an aquarium look truly mesmerising. One bit of contrast on these fish is their bright blue eye which are reminiscent of dwarf rainbow fish
Mini Mollies are also live bearers much like other species in the Poecilia family mini mollies are livebearer fish meaning they give birth to live young and are closely related to guppies and platies. Mini mollies are also great fish to add to planted aquariums as they make for surprisingly good hair algae eaters, they constantly peck at plant leaves and almost scrub plants and rocks clean with their mouth but are overall just great fish for both beginners and well-seasoned aquarists to enjoy and experience. One other amazing fact about these fish is they can live in full fresh, brackish, and saltwater which just shows how hardy they are. The wild habitat of the mini molly is widespread from South America to Mexico.

Being a fish that grows to only 5 cm and remains very easy to care for, the golden mini molly can be kept in a fairly small aquarium with a minimum being 40 liters. However because mini mollies like alkaline or high pH. environments a crushed coral or aragonite sand would be optimal. They will also enjoy plants in the aquarium with great options being ferns, Anubias, pogostemon, and Vallisneria as these are large and denser growing plants and allow for great natural breeding grounds and places for fry to grow.
