Albino Emperor Tetras takes a very unique and different spin on the already elegant Emperor Tetra. Whilst Standard Emperor has a more earthy colour tone with blacks, browns, and contrasting blues, the albino variant takes a full flip on this which makes them a great fish to consider in bright planted aquariums or to mix into a school of standards. Albino Emperor Tetras still carries everything that is loved about Emperor Tetras whilst offering their very own flare to the aquarium.

Albino Emperor Tetra

Albino Emperor Tetras takes a very unique and different spin on the already elegant Emperor Tetra. Whilst Standard Emperor has a more earthy colour tone with blacks, browns, and contrasting blues, the albino variant takes a full flip on this which makes them a great fish to consider in bright planted aquariums or to mix into a school of standards. Albino Emperor Tetras still carries everything that is loved about Emperor Tetras whilst offering their very own flare to the aquarium.

The Emperor Tetra steals the show with its unique bulkier body shape. It features the length seen in species such as cardinal tetras but also has a deeper and rounded body which really makes it stand out. Albino Emperor Tetras has a beautiful creamy pink undertone with a sulphuric yellow splash across the face, belly, and fins. Essentially, anywhere the standard Emperor Tetra would have black replaced with a bright gold which goes to show just how vastly different these fish are. Additionally, they do have a light baby blue hue in the tail and eye which really breaks up the mostly yellow colour.

Emperor Tetras are mostly a shoaling species, meaning they do not stick in extremely tight schools. They are also a calmer tetra species preferring to spend more time just hovering in the water column. These tetras also grow fairly large making them great for slightly larger display aquariums as they max out at around 7-8 cm. Because of their community aquarium tolerance, they are also evidently extremely peaceful fish but feel best when kept in schools of 6 as a minimum but ideally, 10 or more would be perfect. Breeding these fish in captivity is somewhat possible where females tend to be more rounder-bellied than males. Females will scatter eggs through the aquarium and males follow by fertilizing.

For best breeding success it is best to either have these fish in a dedicated breeding tank where the eggs can be collected or to have them in a very densely planted tank so the try can survive. The wild origin of the emperor Tetra is South America.

Tank Recommendations for your Albino Emperor Tetra
Being a decent-sized and relatively easy-to-care-for fish the Albino Emperor Tetra can be kept in an aquarium with the minimum being 75 litres. However, a larger size is always recommended for these fish due to their size. A sand or gravel substrate would be fine for these fish as well as a lot of plant growth which not only makes them contrast really well but also makes them more comfortable in the aquarium. Emperor Tetras are soft water fish meaning they require a low PH.

Feeding your Albino Emperor Tetra
Albino Emperor Tetras are a very easy fish to feed. They will take a wide range of pellets, flakes, and frozen foods.
