60x Local FD Goldfish Culls
Goldfish are one of the most widely kept aquarium fish in the world and have been selectively bred for centuries to produce an incredible variety of shapes, colours, and fin types. These locally bred goldfish culls represent young fish that may not meet the strict appearance standards required for show-quality strains, but are still perfectly healthy and hardy fish that can make great feeders for finicky predatory fish.
These fish typically display the classic goldfish body shape, with a rounded profile and flowing fins. Colouration can vary widely depending on the breeding lines they originate from, with common colours including orange, white, red, black, and combinations of these. Because these fish are culled from selective breeding programs, there can be a lot of variation in appearance, which makes them interesting to watch as they grow. Their main purpose, however, is as an economical live feeder fish option for certain predatory fish that may not immediately take to prepared aquarium foods.
Breeding goldfish is relatively straightforward when conditions are right. Males will develop small white breeding tubercles on their gill plates during the breeding season and will chase females around the aquarium or pond. Females release eggs, which are fertilised externally by the males and scattered across plants or spawning mops.
Tank Recommendations for Your 60x Goldfish Culls
A group of 60 goldfish requires a very large aquarium or, preferably, a pond system. These fish produce a significant amount of waste and grow quite large, so strong filtration and plenty of water volume are essential. Outdoor ponds are often ideal for goldfish, as they provide large volumes of water and stable conditions. If kept indoors, a very large aquarium with heavy filtration is recommended. In the event these goldfish are to be used as feeders, it is fine to keep them in a smaller, well-filtered aquarium with some methylene blue to aid in the prevention of diseases.

Feeding Your 60x Goldfish Culls
Goldfish are omnivores and will eat a wide range of foods. High-quality goldfish pellets or flakes work well as a staple diet. Supplementing with vegetables such as blanched peas or spinach, and occasional frozen foods, can help maintain good health and growth.
