1½" Spheres

Designed for Ammonia & Nitrite Removal under high flow. A deep pore structure will allow the development of low oxygen zones, which will help with the control of nitrates. One MarinePure Sphere has the same surface area as 1,350 plastic 1.5" bio-balls.

Can be used in canister filters, sumps & wet/dry filters.

Available in the following sizes

  • 2 Quarts
  • 1 Gallon
  • 5 Gallon
  • 15 Gallon
  • 100 Liters

Thin Bio-Film Technology

A combination of vast surface area and open/interconnected pores allow a thin bio-film to develop.

This thin film allows bacteria to flourish because necessary nutrients are immediately available.

With the open pores, old dead bio-film is easily flushed from the media and will not plug the media.

Water flows through the media, not around as with other denser medias, thus utilizing the most surface area for beneficial bacterial growth.
