Striped Kuhli Loach

Kuhlii Loach 5cm

Pangio Kuhlii
Rating:
97% of 100
Khuli loaches are one of the most unique aquarium fish available, they a commonly referred to as aquarium noodles due to their slender noodle-like body shape. They offer a very different aspect of behaviour to the aquarium often being a bottom dweller that acts like a mini eel or snake slithering through the aquascape. This snake-like look often turns aquarists away from these fish however looks aside they offer hours of fun as they swim in a hilarious incoherent manner when they decide to leave the substrate but also are fascinating fish to watch.

  1. I haven't seen these guys since putting them in

I haven't seen these guys since putting them in the aquarium which I gather is normal. The gravel is very clean so I assume they are doing their job

  3. My fish arrived in less than 24 hours
    100%
My fish arrived in less than 24 hours after receiving the shipping notification which I think is impressive as I live in a rural town in country Victoria.
They were all very healthy and in great condition on arrival. They settled in very quickly after I put them in my tank (4 foot planted).
I got 5 Kuhli Loaches and have found that they seem to hang out in groups of 2 and 3, sometimes I see one on its own.
They are quite shy at first but once settled in, they come out when it's food time.
Apparently they eat snails but I can't be sure of that yet (I have an invasion of snails from plants).
They love eating the large flakes of flake food that end up on the substrate. They also gnaw away at the really small sinking pellets that are also there for my other catfish (Corydoras and Otocinclus).
I have Seachem Flourite® Black Sand as my substrate which they seem to like.
Very interesting fish which I definitely recommend!!
